Katarina joined legacy company Mylan in 2019 and was appointed Director of EU Government Affairs & Policy at Viatris in March 2025. In her current role, she leads Viatris’ Brussels Policy Office and drives the company’s EU external engagement strategy, including high-level advocacy and policy responses. She represents Viatris across key trade associations, including AmCham EU, Pharma Deutschland, and Medicines for Europe, where she is a Board Member.
Before joining Viatris, Katarina gained global public health and policy experience through her work with the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), the World Health Organization (WHO), the American Pharmacists’ Association, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the European Commission, and the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic. In 2018, she was elected President of the European Health Parliament’s 4th edition, leading a diverse group of young health leaders shaping future EU health policies.
Katarina holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmDr.) from Comenius University in Bratislava, with part of her studies completed at Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, where she focused her research on medicine shortages. She also holds an Executive MBA from Vlerick Business School in Belgium.
She speaks English, Slovak, Czech, German, French, and speaks basic Dutch.
